In 'Farmer Boris and the Dino', the Netherlands' most famous little farmer discovers something extraordinary. In this nineteenth installment in the series by acclaimed picture book creators Ted van Lieshout and Philip Hopman, Farmer Boris is back in action. As he plows his land for sugar beets, his plow gets stuck. What could be the matter? To their surprise, Farmer Boris, Berend, and Sam find a gigantic bone in the plowshare! But what animal could this bone belong to? A guinea pig? A marmot? Together, they set out to investigate and start digging. Soon, they discover a hundred bones, including a skull. This book is suitable for children aged 3 and up and is also being released as storytelling cards. Naturalis is focusing on the Triceratops this year. 'Farmer Boris and the Dino' is the picture book that fits in seamlessly with this theme. This summer, Naturalis' five triceratopses can be seen individually in Maastricht, Tilburg, Delft, Haarlem, and Leeuwarden. From Thursday, October 17, the herd of triceratopses can be seen together for the first time at Naturalis in Leiden. Since 2012, Ted van Lieshout and Philip Hopman have been working tirelessly on their series of books about Farmer Boris, Sam, Berend, and the farm. The two form a true top duo: Ted received the Theo Thijssen Prize in 2009 and Philip Hopman won the Max Velthuijs Prize in 2022, each for their awe-inspiring oeuvre. Around Farmer Boris, they have created a bright, cheerful, but above all warm world. Young children will want to look at the drawings on the large storyboards again and again – and their parents enjoy it too.
