The platypus from the schleich® WILD LIFE theme world is one of the few egg-laying mammals. It is native to Australia. There, the animal lives in rivers and lakes and feeds on shrimps, insects and worms. Its broad beak is reminiscent of a duck's beak. With its beak, it picks up electrical signals from other animals and can use this to track down prey. In contrast to other mammals, the platypus has a very low body temperature of only 32 degrees Celsius. Schleich figures are reproduced true to life and always to scale.
