Farmer Boris and the Dino

In 'Farmer Boris and the Dinosaur', the most famous farmer in the Netherlands discovers something extraordinary. In this nineteenth part in the series by acclaimed picture book makers Ted van Lieshout and Philip Hopman, Farmer Boris is back in action. When he ploughs his land for sugar beets, his plough gets stuck. What could be wrong? To their surprise, Farmer Boris, Berend and Sam find a gigantic bone in the ploughshare! But which animal could this bone belong to? A guinea pig? A marmot? Together they investigate and start digging. They soon discover a hundred bones, including a skull. This book is suitable for children aged 3 and up and will also be published as story plates.

This year, Naturalis is all about Triceratops. 'Farmer Boris and the Dinosaur' is the picture book that ties in seamlessly with this. This summer, the five triceratops from Naturalis can be seen separately in Maastricht, Tilburg, Delft, Haarlem and Leeuwarden. From Thursday 17 October, the herd of triceratops will be on display together for the first time at Naturalis in Leiden.'

Since 2012, Ted van Lieshout and Philip Hopman have been working tirelessly on their series of books about Farmer Boris, Sam, Berend and the farm. The two are a true top duo: Ted received the Theo Thijssen Prize in 2009 and Philip Hopman won the Max Velthuijs Prize in 2022, each for their awe-inspiring oeuvre. They have created a bright, cheerful, but above all warm world around Farmer Boris. Young children will want to look at the drawings on the large storyboards again and again - and their parents will enjoy it too.
