Description

The Hereford's origins have been lost over time, but it is generally agreed that it is based on the draught ox, descended from the small red cattle of the Roman Britons and from a large Welsh breed that was once numerous along the border between England and Wales. Herefords take their name from the county of Herefordshire, a historic agricultural region in England where the breed developed.
