Description

Although Simmental cattle are male and have a large build, they have a good temperament and are easy to handle. One of the important characteristics of the Simmental breed is its excellent maternal trait. The cow can become pregnant after just 15 months, give birth to a healthy calf, and breed again while nursing her calf. This is a good trait because Simmental Cattle can maintain an inter-calving interval of 365 days. A good-breed Simmental cow can produce an average of 16 to 24 pounds (7.3 to 10.9 kg) of milk daily.
