Cascadia is an award-winning, challenging family game that you'll never tire of. It's perfect for those who love exploring nature and have a big heart for animals, but also for all tile-laying game enthusiasts. Cascadia features a wide variety of nature areas, with different animal species in each area. The nature reserve is bordered on one side by the Rocky Mountains and on the other by the Pacific Ocean. Are you ready to explore Cascadia? In Cascadia, players must create a diverse nature reserve that's habitable for the game's various animals. The animals found in the reserve include grizzly bears, Roosevelt elk, Chinook salmon, red-tailed hawks, and red foxes. The game consists of various types of tiles, including nature reserve tiles and habitat tiles. Players use these tiles to create their own nature reserve. Each tile can house certain animals, depending on the type of area depicted. On your turn, you take a tile-animal combination from the selection and place it in your play area. When creating nature reserves, the number of animals and how they interact must be taken into account. Different points are awarded for each different shape or group size. The player who has found the perfect balance between animals and nature after twenty rounds can call themselves the winner of Cascadia. The number of points each player receives depends on how well they have fulfilled the needs of the animal species and the habitats they have created in their play area. Cascadia for one player: In addition to the basic game, Cascadia also includes a solo variant. In the solo variant, the rules are adjusted so that the game can be played by one person.
