Description
Azulejos (originally white and blue ceramic tiles) are an invention of the Moors. The decoration appealed to the Portuguese King Manuel I during his visit to the Alhambra in southern Spain. He was so impressed by the fabulous beauty of the Moorish decorations in the interior of the Alhambra that he had his own palace in Evora, Portugal, decorated with similar tiles. In the tactical game Azul, it is up to the players to beautify the walls of the royal palace in Evora on the king's orders. Form patterns, cover the palace walls, score the most points, and win!
