The bison is the largest mammal in North America and this bull here is a particularly beautiful specimen. He stands confidently on the lush meadow with broad legs and grazes with pleasure. Then suddenly he jerks his head up. Did he hear something? The bison turns his large head to the side and looks out over the wide plain. Nothing to see. He continues to graze happily. He is a gentle giant. But if necessary, he will defend himself and his herd bravely. You probably didn't expect it: he can run very fast. Up to 56 km per hour! Once he gets up to speed, he rushes towards his opponent like a huge avalanche. Fortunately, this only happens in emergencies.
