The proud black rooster crows excitedly as Paul collects the fresh eggs and carefully places them in the basket. The yellow chick watches him go curiously. The beautiful patterned hen, however, continues scratching around undisturbed in search of food. Every morning, Paul looks forward to the parade of peeps. Then he visits his hens to see if there are any fresh eggs. As always, he is in luck: his favorite hen with the beautiful plumage has been at it again and has left eggs in her nest. Paul gratefully picks them up and carefully places them in the basket so they don't break. The rooster keeps an eye on him and pays close attention to what is happening.
