Pietje, do you have to pee?

"Pietje, do you need to pee?" is a delightfully humorous picture book by Sunna Borghuis (known for "Scheetjesles" among others) with illustrations by Ruth Hengeveld. Toilet training and Sinterklaas are an unexpectedly hilarious combination! Thomas is four and toilet trained, and then he's finally allowed to go to Piet school! Everyone there is called Piet. So does Thomas, and his sister—whose name is simply Sophie at home—as well. The teacher asks if he can go to the toilet on his own yet. "For a long time now," Pietje answers. At school, Pietje learns everything a real Piet should be able to do: baking gingerbread nuts, climbing ropes, wrapping presents. Pietje does everything except go to the toilet. The teacher starts to worry, but Pietje really doesn't need to go! When he sings "Poo, poop, turd, my pants are full" when he's picked up, Mom fears the worst... Or are there just freshly baked gingerbread nuts in his pocket? Sunna Borghuis wrote "Pietje, do you need to pee?" A cheerful story about a Piet who knows exactly how to go to school without a diaper. Ruth Hengeveld's illustrations make everyone want to be a student at Piet's school.
