Description
A little rabbit takes the train to the city alone. Mother rabbit waves him goodbye. The rabbit sits a little dejectedly in the back carriage, all alone. But at each station, a different little animal gets on, and they all have their own reason for going to the city. When they reach the final stop, they all run away. The driver and the conductor take a nap under the station clock. At four o'clock, all the little characters return happily. The train departs. The journey is very pleasant because they've all had a pleasant experience. At the end of the journey, Mother Rabbit is waiting on the platform. She sees her little rabbit getting off with a broad smile and asks, "Was it nice on the train? What did you bring?" The rabbit throws his arms around the mouse with the bandaged leg, and together they happily exclaim, "A friend!!!" In this popular picture book, text and illustrations (watercolor ink drawings) form a true symbiosis. The text is sweet and full of words of experience; The illustrations are soft and appealing, offering a wealth of detail. A warm story by an author who, like the illustrator, has already made her mark with numerous books for adults and children.
