Kolletje is a cheerful and headstrong girl. Her real name is Katharina Orselia Laetitia, but that's way too long. That's why everyone calls her Kolletje. For her fourth birthday, she received magic socks from her aunt Laetitia. When Kolletje puts them on, squints, and says "Katharina Orselia Laetitia," wonderful things happen.
It's autumn and the leaves are blowing off the trees. Doerak, Mr. De Jong's dog, turns into a scary autumn creature when he rolls through a pile of leaves with his wet fur. Postman Najib has to run after a blown-away letter. Kolletje and Dirk make autumn creatures from acorns, beechnuts, and chestnuts. Kolletje goes to the park with her class and the new teacher Lucas to look for mushrooms. Then it suddenly feels like summer. It's very hot and Kolletje and Dirk want to take a bath, but Dad doesn't think that's a good idea. Luckily, Kolletje has her magic socks. But suddenly it starts to storm and rain, and Kolletje and Dirk quickly run inside.
