Golden Horses: The Rescue of Roan

Roan is a big, tough, and friendly Friesian. He's perfectly happy at his stable in Friesland, with his owner, Dieuwertje. Together they enjoy wonderful trail rides and are quite successful in dressage competitions. But when Dieuwertje arrives at the stable one day, crying, Roan's world collapses. Dieuwertje's mother has lost her job, and they can no longer afford Roan. To his great sorrow, he has to be sold. His new owner is very different from Dieuwertje. Roan has to work incredibly hard in a team of horses, together with Tjeerd. The two horses become close friends, but they also struggle and get little feed. Moreover, Tjeerd is terrified of water. Roan does what he can to help his new friend overcome his fear. It seems to be working, until they enter a major competition. There, something happens that will turn Roan's world upside down once again...
