Rafal is a Konik horse and he lives with his herd in a nature reserve in the middle of the Netherlands. It's a tough life for the horses now that winter has arrived. There's a thick layer of snow, and the animals can barely find any food. The Konik horses in the reserve aren't fed, and the herd can't leave the area to forage. One day, the horses see no other way out: they have to cross the lake that forms the reserve's border, hoping to find something edible on the other side. But to do so, they have to cross a snow-covered expanse of ice. Rafal is afraid of the ice, but he realizes he has no other choice. Will he make it across? And what awaits him on the other side of the lake, where he's never been before? -> Horse stickers on request -> Part 4 in Christine Linneweever's successful horse series.
