Project 1065 tells the story of 13-year-old Michael O'Shaunessy. He is Irish but lives with his parents in Berlin. Like the rest of his class, Michael is a member of the Hitler Youth. But no one knows that he and his parents are actually spies. With his photographic memory, Michael is a crucial part of the Irish mission. Even though Michael opposes everything the Nazis stand for, he still participates in the Hitler Youth's activities. He must mingle with his fellow group members and keep his identity secret at all costs. When one of the boys in his group confides in him about Project 1065, a crucial secret mission that could influence the entire course of the war, he does everything he can to penetrate even deeper into the Hitler Youth. Michael must take great risks, even if it could cost him everything—and everyone—he loves.
