Summer vacation is starting, but Sem isn't looking forward to it at all. His friends and classmates are off to faraway, warm places, and he's not going anywhere at all. The zoo he recently moved into is certainly a lot of fun, but it also means there's always work to be done. Especially during the summer holidays. His parents are incredibly busy. And he can't do anything for Sita, the zookeeper, either. Sita is going to India to help her uncle Ravi in his elephant sanctuary. Then Grandpa has a good idea: why don't he and Sem go with her? An Elephant as an Alarm Clock is the third installment in the humorous series by Marlies Slegers (of, among others, Gezocht: normale ouders (Wanted: Normal Parents)). The illustrations are by Iris Boter (known for, among others, Miss Braaksel and De Dierenredders (The Animal Rescuers)).
