"Farmer Boris Goes to Grandma's" is the eighth picture book in the successful series by Ted van Lieshout and Philip Hopman. In this installment, Boris and his brother and sister go to Grandma's in The Hague to bring some fresh fruit. To Grandma's in The Hague: Farmer Boris and his sister Sam and brother Berend have picked a whole bunch of apples, pears, and plums. Delicious, of course, but what are they going to do with all that fruit? "We're going to take them," says Farmer Boris, "to Grandma's in The Hague. She bakes apple pies and pear juice, and plum jam for rusk and porridge." And so they set off, by train to The Hague. Once they arrive, Grandma turns out not to be the sweet old woman the reader expected! Picture Book of the Year 2015: The Farmer Boris series by Ted van Lieshout and Philip Hopman has won numerous awards. For example, 'Farmer Boris in the Snow' was awarded a Vlag & Wimpel and 'Farmer Boris Goes to Sea' was chosen as Picture Book of the Year 2015!
