A surprise for Frog

Rat returns from a long journey. He has brought a present for Frog.
It looks just like an onion…
‘Can I eat it?’ asks Frog.
‘No,’ says Rat, ‘it’s a bulb. If you put it in the ground now, you’ll get a surprise in the spring.’
Frog thinks he has to wait a long time. But then a small green dot finally appears above the ground…
The dot grows bigger and leaves grow.
On a beautiful spring day, Frog’s friends come to see the surprise.
Rat claps his hands. ‘It’s become a beautiful tulip!’
Frog sighs with satisfaction. ‘Beautiful, isn’t it! I took good care of it.’
