Secret Resistance is a children's book by Dutch author Beene Dubbelboer. The book was published in 1964 and was chosen as the best book of the year by the children's jury in Rotterdam that same year.
The book describes the fate of a Drenthe border village during the Second World War, from the perspective of the two friends Wim and Geert. One day they accidentally overhear a conversation between two Germans, from which it appears that the Netherlands will be invaded the next day. They warn their parents and indeed, the next day there is war.
The friends gradually become involved in all kinds of resistance activities: preventing goods from being requisitioned, sabotaging a traitor's car, hiding paratroopers and a Jewish woman. Geert, Wim and everyone who supports them do everything they can to protect the village and make it as difficult as possible for the Germans.
