Talens Art Creation water-soluble oil pastels are soft, rich pastels that are easy to mix and apply, just like regular oil pastels. The difference, however, is that you can mix these pastels with water to create even softer color transitions and make the intense colors slightly more transparent for a watercolor effect.

Apply water to (parts of) your paper with a wet brush, wet the pastels before applying them, or use a wet brush to remove color from the pastel and apply it to your paper. Create even colors by smoothing the texture of your applied dry oil pastel strokes with a wet brush for streak-free color blends and transitions.
