The platypus from the schleich® WILD LIFE theme world is one of the few egg-laying mammals. It belongs in Australia. There the animal lives in rivers and lakes and feeds on shrimps, insects and worms. Its wide beak is reminiscent of a duck's beak. With its beak it senses electrical signals from other animals and can thus detect prey. Unlike other mammals, the platypus has a very low body temperature of only 32 degrees Celsius. Schleich's figures are reproduced faithfully and always to scale. All figures are painted by hand. This way the figures always correspond to reality.
