The history of the Mouse House began with Karina Schaapman, a Dutch children's book author and artist. In 2008, with patience, precision, and an incredible eye for detail, she started building hundreds of structures filled with houses, shops, streets, and outdoor spaces on a mouse scale. The Mouse House is entirely handmade from recycled materials and vintage elements and resulted in a series of beautiful children's books, of which 'The Mouse House' was the first volume.
