Golden Horses: Rafal's Escape

Rafal is a Konik horse and he lives with his herd in a nature reserve in the middle of the Netherlands. It is a hard life for the horses now that it is winter. There is a thick layer of snow and the animals can hardly find any food. The Konik horses are not fed in the reserve and the herd cannot leave the area to look for food.
One day the horses see no other way out: they have to cross the lake that forms the border of the reserve, in the hope that something edible can still be found on the other side. However, they have to cross a snow-covered ice plain to do so.
Rafal is afraid of the ice, but he realizes that he has no other choice. Will he make it to the other side? And what awaits him on the other side of the lake, where he has never been before?
