Description
Hideki lives with his parents on the Japanese island of Okinawa. When World War II reaches the island, Hideki is forced to fight in the Japanese army. He is given two grenades: one to kill as many American soldiers as possible, and one to kill himself afterwards. Ray has just joined the US Navy and is sent to Okinawa. He does not know what to expect or if he will survive. The only thing he does know is that he does not want to become a monster just like his father. In the middle of the battle, the boys meet.
