Paladins of the Western Kingdom

Paladins of the Western Kingdom takes place during a turbulent time in the Western Frankish Empire, around the year 900. Despite frantic efforts to rebuild the city, surrounding towns are threatened by outsiders. Saracens explore the borders, while Vikings plunder wealth and livestock. Even the Byzantines from the East reveal their dark side. As noble men and women, the players attempt to hire workers from the city to defend themselves against enemies, build fortifications, and spread the faith throughout the land. Fortunately, you are not alone. The wise king has sent his best knights to aid in our efforts. Saddle the horses, sharpen the swords, the Paladins are coming.

The player with the most victory points (VP) at the end of the game wins. Victory points can be earned by building outposts and fortifications, sending out monks, and confronting outsiders. Each round, players request assistance from a specific paladin and hire workers to perform tasks. Throughout the game, their faith, power, and influence will gradually increase. This not only affects their victory point totals but also determines the power of their actions. The game ends at the end of the 7th round.
