Wolves is a strategic game in which you lead your own wolf pack. You try to claim territories, expand your pack, develop its abilities, build dens, and hunt prey. All of these activities provide advantages and victory points in various ways. Your turns are controlled by double-sided terrain tiles. Each turn, you flip over a certain number of these tiles depending on the action you choose. You may then perform an action on a space within that terrain, provided it is within range of your wolves. For example, you can move your wolves, build dens (which improve your pack's abilities), or upgrade your dens to dens. However, some actions can only be performed with your alpha wolves, and unfortunately, you don't have many of them. You score the most points by controlling certain areas at the time the moon reaches a certain phase. To do this, you need the most pieces in such an area. Because only two pieces are allowed per space, fierce competition arises between the different player packs. Wolves is a highly thematic and challenging board game. The interaction between the packs and the variable playing field mean you'll have to explore new strategies and possibilities time and again to secure victory. The beautiful artwork and wooden wolves create an intense gaming experience. Suitable for 2 to 5 players, ages 14 and up. Playing time: approximately 75 minutes.
