Description

Saber-toothed cats had almost comically large teeth: these cats could open their jaws to a snake-sized 120-degree angle, or about twice as wide as a modern lion (or a gaping house cat). Paradoxically, however, the various species of Smilodon did not chew on their prey with much force, as they needed to protect their precious canines from accidental breakage! Dimensions: 12.8 x 3.8 x 7.6 centimeters.
